Brefi Group has developed a range of training approaches suitable for application in different corporate
and individual environments. Our courses and development programmes are designed to achieve the maximum impact
with the minimum disruption of normal work, or time away from base.
Learning is a natural, ongoing process that has structure, with both a natural and rational cycle. Natural learning processes centre around the development of unconscious competence. Rational learning processes centre around the development of conscious competence.
Brefi Group courses guide individuals and organisations from unconscious incompetence through conscious incompetence to conscious competence and eventually to unconscious competence. With examples and exercises we provide a link between the known to the unknown. As we introduce people to new cognitive maps, so they also get reference experiences to give these maps practical meaning.A comprehensive training needs analysis is the basis for designing a cost effective management or talent development programme. This can incorporate a 360° feedback survey, or an analysis of current corporate needs. For senior individuals an intensive interview programme, including work shadowing can be justified.
CorporateFeedback has been designed to assess the competences addressed in the following training programmes.
These intensive residential programmes are designed to introduce individuals to the reality of their new responsibilities, requiring greater levels of initiative, responsibility and leadership, with less structure and direction from above. They deal with skills, processes and identity, including values, goal setting and communication.
Based on an NLP foundation course the programmes involve a mixture of discovery, self directed learning and group projects.
Each programme includes learnings and exercises appropriate to the stage of development of the target audience. They are ideal for delivery in-house for large organisations or through professional associations, or as open courses.
NLP consultancy practitioner programme – This 20-day integrated programme of consultancy skills – the first of its kind in the world – including modules on coaching, facilitation and training, leads to an NLP practitioner certificate and registration as an accelerated trainer. It forms part of the Brefi Group twelve month programme for successful professionals and executives who wish to become successful consultants.
Training takes time – often the greatest cost is releasing participants from their daily responsibilities, especially if travel is required.
With increasing pressure on performance and time, many organisations are reviewing the opportunity cost of training and seeking ways to deliver a real transfer of learning at a lower cost.
90-Minute Learning has been developed to provide training with the minimum disruption – and the maximum impact. Based on the principles of high performance coaching and using accelerated training methods, each 90-minute session is a high impact, high energy intervention.
Individual workshops on your premises to suit your timetable can be assembled into the following comprehensive programmes delivered on a regular basis or – where time is available – with up to four modules a day.
BytesizeLearning™ allow you to learn in your own time, at your own pace, when it suits you – at the start or end of the day, or during a coffee break.
Learn at your desktop with ten individual lessons, check lists or exercises delivered by e-mail over a period of four weeks. Complete these and within a month you will have developed a new skill or changed a habit.
Based on the content of the 90-Minute Learning modules, individual BytesizeLearning™ can also be assembled into comprehensive programmes as part of a corporate or personal development plan.
Self directed, self managed learning is a way of creating a situation where learning is owned by the individual and aligned with organisational needs. Individuals take responsibility for decisions about their learning and working with others to achieve it. They create a leaning community of up to twelve people, learning with and from each other. There are few formal presentations.
The role of the tutor is to help participants envision success, provoke fresh ways of thinking and stimulate learning through cognitive dissonance and creative problem solving. The tutor supports the group as it identifies and addresses performance improvement needs and opportunities, and learns with the group, demonstrating the learning flexibility that is a core skill addressed in the programme. The tutor listens, encourages and, where appropriate, challenges the group to work in various ways – individually, in pairs, in small teams and in the large group – and to make sense of the learning. Organisational politics and conflict management are addressed and small learning support groups are self-generated.
Brefi Group also offers a range of general training courses and workshops that can form the basis of customised programmes for individual clients.
