RSS feeds give you the earliest news from Brefi Group

RSS is an increasingly important publishing technology to help you keep up to date. It is a convenient way to get news and information that matters most to you - quickly and easily, without having to search over the Web, without the risk of anti-SPAM systems stopping what you actually want. You will notice more and more Web sites with the orange RSS icon: . Also there are ?aggregated? feeds that combine headlines from a variety of sources on a chosen topic.

A free or low cost software program called an RSS reader will automatically collect the latest headlines on topics that you choose and deliver them to your desktop for free. When your reader displays a headline of interest, click the headline and the reader will access the source Web site for the full story. This is different from e-mail: instead of you receiving whatever other people choose to send to you, this program collects what you choose without you having to trawl your favourite web sites to check for updates.

If you combine RSS technology with "blog" technology, you get a powerful inter-active and non-intrusive news service.

Where can I find an RSS reader?

You have a choice of free or paid-for RSS readers, but none of them will cost you very much. You might, for example, prefer to purchase one that integrates into Outlook.

How do I subscribe to an RSS feed?

When you have installed your reader, you need to subscribe to some feeds. This is done through a special Web page.

1. Copy the URL (web address) of our RSS feed as shown above.
2. Open up your newsreader software and paste the URL into the appropriate place.
3. The new feed will appear under ?My feeds?, e.g. as CorporateCoach blog.
4. Click on any headline and the story will appear in the reader?s browser.

Then just leave it to your reader software to scan the feeds and advise you of what's new. You can easily cancel a feed if you prefer not to continue receiving it.
