Regular readers of CorporateCoach will know that I have been interested in different ways of setting and achieving goals, and generally improving my future. I know that affirmations and visions and keeping a journal are the way to do it and I absolutely believe that they work.
Unfortunately I just do not get round to doing them consistently. I have two journals on the go and was doing well until I went to Toronto at the beginning of August. Now, I have so much to write up, and I have been so busy, that I am inhibited from getting down to such a mammoth backlog.
The key to success is to find something that works for you – and I think that I have found it. My mother told me that when I used to come home from school I would drive her mad with my continual questioning. I expect many parents have had the same experience. It may be a stage of development but I have continued to ask questions. I am continually driven to understand, and it is the basis of my professional life as both a consultant and a coach. So, Robert Scheinfeld's method appeals to me. I am going to try it and I am confident that it will be effective.
Bob is a grandson of the founder of multi-billion dollar Fortune 500 company Manpower Inc, Aaron Scheinfeld. When he was a young boy he questioned his grandfather about the secret of his success. "The process of creating wealth includes many elements," his grandfather told him. "They are all important, but there's one element that's the glue, the 'master controller' that holds them together and makes them all work. I became a master at working with that little-known element, and when you do, the highest levels of business success and wealth can be yours too."
Over the next 12 months Aaron began teaching Bob the system that he calls The 11th Element to create business success and wealth. After his grandfather's death Bob continued to research and develop the system and now teaches it through workshops, e-courses and his book.
The 11th Element is a metaphor that explains how to interact with your subconscious, how to access the talent of others and how to identify and put right matters that are incongruent, and holding you back. The process is based on sending questions to your subconscious – what Bob calls his Inner CEO. Once the question is refined and 'posted' it can be forgotten. There is no need to put it onto your make-up or shaving mirror and repeat it three times a day. If the request is clearly written and in line with your life purpose and mission, then your Inner CEO will approve it and send it out to all the other Inner CEOs asking for their support. This is how the answer can be manifested.
Here are the steps of the process: -
Implementing these steps will require you to master four critical skills: -
The book contains clear and specific instructions on how to word your requests, together with plenty of examples. I strongly recommend it. For me, it made perfect sense and offers a process that fits with my personality. Next job is to set up a template on my word processor.
Why the 11th Element? Scheinfeld says that many authorities claim up to ten essential elements of business success – but they all miss the 11th Element!
