Stress busting walks in Wales
"Having walked in many parts of the world I consider we are fortunate here in Wales to have such a
variety of great walking landscapes. We have the rocky mountains and lakes of North Wales, the world
renowned Pembrokeshire coastal path, the beautiful but accessible Brecon Beacons. Each area is recognised
as special by its own national park status.
"Throughout the the national parks and the rest of Wales there are historic villages, castles and
churches. Enchanting rivers run through ancient forests and wild moorland.
"There is an abundance of industrial heritage on offer. Coal, iron and steel have made the South
Wales valleys unique, with world heritage status afforded to Blaenavon. This may be contrasted with the
raw and haunting experience of walking in a disused slate quarry in North Wales or along a peaceful canal
towpath or diused railway line. All offer great wlaks if you know where to go.
"This rich variety of landscape is enhanced by the frequent changes in our weather – creating
new vistas and atmospheres on an almost hourly basis. Add to this a friendly and warm people offering high
standards of service, food and accommodation and you have compelling reasons to walk in Wales.
"I appreciate that not all people out for a day's walk want to yomp as far and as fast as they can.
I aim to give clients a relaxing and interesting day out, going to areas they can only reach by
"Shanks' Pony". The pace is comfortable, the conversation relaxed, the views superb. I hope to share with
you some of my love of our wild countryside."
