We read this week that Victoria Adams, a Spice Girl, is devastated because her first solo album has failed to get to number one in the hit parade. It has got to number two!
It reminds me of a story told by Anthony Robbins about a seminar for very wealthy individuals. One Fortune 500 CEO claimed that he was not successful. He came up with lots of things that he had not achieved.
Another claimed he was. His criteria for succees? "If I wake up in the morning, then that is success." Seems a better approach to life than Posh Spice.
When I am sitting in my overalls next to my pond with a dustbin lid of mortar building a cascade of waterfalls, I wonder: "Who else do I know who does this. Indeed, who else do I know who could do this?"
When I am creating something I am wholly satisfied. I am experiencing the essence of who is Richard Winfield. And it is closely parallel to what I do in my work.
So, what is it that makes you uniquely who you are? Do you know? How does it fit with what you do each day?
